The AdBlue module itself contributes to the environmental protection, since it is part of the system for reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions in diesel engines. Non-functioning remanufacturing AdBlue modules therefore saves even more materials and energy that would be required to manufacture new modules. Overall the remanufacturing process consists of diagnosing the failure of the module, disassembling into individual components, replacing defective parts and cleaning parts in an acceptable condition. After the AdBlue module reassembling its functionality is checked and tested. When installed in the car it has to be calibrated and adjusted correctly. Finally, the vehicle has to be emissions tested to verify the acceptable amount of urea injected and thus compliance with emissions standards.
